Long Response:
Read the article on page B1 "Texas faces challenge to boost straight-to-college rate. Please answer the following questions:

Only 52% of students directly enroll in college after high school. This should go up because 65% of high school students should be enrolling in college by 2030. Not directly enrolling in college after high school has affected students by being less likely to end up earning a certificate or a degree. California and Massachusetts have a higher rate of graduation then a lot of other states do. Parades hopes to push to get more kids to move in to college as soon as the leave high school, to benefit them in the long run.

I do believe that college is important, but it has been proven that you don't always NEED college to be successful. At the moment I plan to enroll directly into college, but if another opportunity came my way, I would defiantly consider it. The push to get kids straight into college is very impacting towards others that might not be in as nice of a place as Austin, or don't have the best home life. Showing them that they can control there future, might help them want to go to college, or to take steps to make themselves successful. I do think it is possible to have a comfortable life without a college degree, because my dad doesn't have one, but we are just fine. I have considered a couple things that do not involve a college degree, involving film or dance.
