Long Response:

1. Briefly summarize what you read - 1-2 sentences
Protesters gathered in Charlottesville to protest the Robert E. Lee monument, being up, others also gathered against the protesters. It end up getting very violent, and a woman sadly died because of it. They ended up covering the statue with a large black tarp.

2. Should the statues have been shrouded? (make certain to answer WHY you think this)
I don't believe that the statues should have been shrouded, because if we take them down then we can't learn from what we've done wrong in the past, and we have to understand that in the past we made mistakes and we don't need to make them again.

3. UT recently took down all of the statues of Confederate heroes from the Civil War. Do you think this was a good or bad decision? (again make sure to answer WHY)
I personally think it was a bad decision, because I feel they should be up so we remember how we messed up.

4. Do you care about these statues and whether they are visible in public or not? (WHY?)
I feel maybe the statues might be better placed in a museum, so if people didn't want to see it they would just have to go to the museum. But for the people who didn't want them to be put away them would still be in a museum.

5. Have you participated an any discussions or heard anyone talking about these statues? (Please make sure to tell me who and where if you have)
I talked about it with my dad when it came on the news, and we both had the same sort of thought process.
