Ranking (top five universities):

Team's Performance: Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Minnesota Dance team usually preforms at football and basketball games as well as competitions. The team has won nationals consistently for the past 4 years in their Jazz and Pom dances. They have also won the Pom category every year since 2010, because they have been they only ever to qualify. This year the team finished 1st in jazz and 2nd the year before.
There are no playoffs in dance, but we have nationals which is kind of like "dance Super Bowl." This competition is like the last competition of the season and it's the biggest one too. This is where all the dance teams from regionals from everyone across the US compete in one completion.
Rules/And Words: (in general)
Some rules that you need in dance are:
- no jewelry
- hair up
- point your toes
- don't hit others
- don't talk while the teacher is talking
- try your best (even if your best sucks :)
Some words that you use in dance are:
- Full out: Do the action or dance to it's full point
- Mark it: Don't do the dance to it fullest extent, but sill go over the movements
- Turnout: Rotate your legs and hips outward
- Higher releve: A releve is when your on the balls of your feet, and you need to be higher up is a higher releve.
- Levels: Make it a point change the level you at
- Mental Rehearsal: Going over the dance in your head
- Spread out: GIVE PEOPLE THEIR PERSONAL BUBBLE

Athlete: Sophia Lucia
Sophia Lucia is a 15 year old record breaker dancer for her incredible dancing abilities and turns. She holds the Guinness World Record for being able to do 54 pirouette turns IN A ROW. She has also been in many TV shows like, Shake it Up, Dance Moms, and Nicky, Ticky, Ricky, and Dawn. She was born in San Diego, California. She grew up homeschooled, training at San Diego Dance Center. Currently now in 9th grade she attends Master Ballet Academy.
